Dance floors and stages are two of those bigger items that you often see at large events but rarely have a chance to interact with in your day-to-day life, so when you find yourself needing one or both of these items for your own event, it’s only natural that you would have some questions. You are certainly not alone! Below are the answers to some of the most common questions we receive about renting dance floors and staging.
Is setup included with delivery?
Yes! When you schedule a delivery and pickup of large items like staging and dance floors, we include setup and breakdown at no extra charge. Our delivery crew is experienced in the proper setup procedures of these items, so just point them to where you want your stage or dance floor to be, and they will have it leveled and locked together in no time.
Can I set up and break down the items myself?
Due to the size and weight of the panels, as well as the amount of assembly required, we highly recommend you schedule a time for our crew to set up and break down your stage and dance floor panels for you. Our 4’x8’ stage panels weigh over 100 lbs each and require a strong crew to maneuver, and our dance floor panels have a keyed locking mechanism that can be permanently damaged if the panels are forced apart without proper disengagement of the lock. That being said, we do understand that there are circumstances in which you may want or need to set up, move, or break down the panels yourself. If that is the case, we ask that you let our team know so we can ensure you have the right equipment to move the heavy stage panels safely, as well as show you how to assemble and disassemble your stage or dance floor without damaging the panels or causing injury to yourself.
What shapes and sizes are available?
When it comes to shape and size, your creativity and our availability is the limit. Both our stages and our dance floors are constructed from individual panels connected together to create the final whole. Our stages come in 4’x8’ panels, and our dance floors come in 4’x4’ panels. You can arrange these in whatever size or shape you need to fit your event.
Can I use the dance floor outside?
In many cases, yes, but not always. Our dance floors are composed of multiple 4’x4’ panels that are connected on all sides by a system of channels, latches, and locks. In order to achieve a seamless transition from one panel to the next, the dance floor must be assembled on a level surface. Our dance floors perform best on solid floors, patios, flat driveways, or other paved areas, but they can do well on an even, level lawn as well. In addition to a level surface, we do require that our dance floors be protected from the elements at all times as they are primarily made of wood and are vulnerable to water damage from unexpected rain showers.
Does the dance floor only come in one color?
No! We have panels available in 3 colors: black, white, and birch wood. You can make a solid-colored dance floor out of any of these colors, or you can mix and match to create patterns. Black and white check and birch and white check are particularly popular.
Can I cover my stage with a tent?
Absolutely! Depending on your needs, we can either assemble a small stage under a larger tent, or we can build a tent directly on top of the stage. The only requirement is that there is sufficient space around the stage for the tent to be staked securely into the ground. Let us know ahead of time how you need your stage and tent configured, and we will work with you to find the best solution to fit your needs.
What are my options for covering the sides of the stage?
We have two main options for covering the sides of your stage: skirting and stage facades. Skirting is the more understated option, covering the sides in uniform pleats of draping fabric. These skirts come ready to use and easy to assemble with sewn-on velcro strips that match up with the stage’s built-in velcro edging. Skirting comes in multiple color options, including black, white, ivory, silver, gold, and burgundy. For a more elegant option, the glossy white stage facades create a low, polished wall around the front of the stage. The facades come in panels just like the stages themselves, so they can be perfectly customized to fit the size and shape of your stage, as well as to accommodate any stairs or railings you include.
Can the stages be used as risers?
Yes! Our stages have adjustable, telescoping legs, so they can be adjusted to multiple heights to create a tiered look. We also have accessory stairs in three different heights to make sure each level is accessible, as well as optional railings to make sure no one accidentally takes a fall.
