The Best Trends of the Fall 2025 Wedding Season
Posted by: Sarah Lawen Smith Aug 16, 2025

These summer days may seem hotter than ever, but the turn of the season is just around the corner. Soon a cool breeze will move in to push away the heat and humidity, shake the leaves from the trees, and ripen fall crops for harvest, and our favorite wedding season will come riding in behind it. Fall weddings have all the wonderful weather, cool temperatures, and bright foliage as spring, all with the added benefit of warm colors, crisp aromas, and spectacular golden sunsets. Yes, planning for the fall 2025 wedding season has been in the works for months now, and our excitement to get the season rolling is only accelerated by the delightful trends that are popping up in fall wedding planning and decor. Allow us to share the excitement by letting you in on the best trends of the season!

Classic and Moody Color Palettes

Wedding colors this fall are a mixture of classic and creative. Timeless picks like burnt orange, copper, and gold are ever present during the fall season, but brides this year are also branching out to deep, moody colors like cinnamon, plum, navy, and wine. Green is also making itself known in the palette this season, with shades ranging from bright leaf green to muted olive. While some brides are still opting for bright, punchy, contrasting palettes, the name of the game this season is elegant monochromatic looks.

A Minimalist Approach

While we started off the year with some extraordinary maximalist looks with layered drapery and grand floral displays, many brides are going into fall with an appreciation for minimalism. More than just keeping things clean and simple, this year’s fall brides are choosing decor pieces with care, making sure each element has a place and a purpose and ensuring every feature can be fully impactful and appreciated in harmony with everything else.

Texture: Featuring Velvet

Texture has been IN this year, and the fall season is no exception! Brides are using layers of mixed textures to achieve maximum visual interest with minimal clutter. Satin, organza, lace, and rattan are all showing up, but especially prevalent this season are luxurious velvet linens, adding a weight and warmth to the decor that is more than appropriate for the season. Texture is coming to the place settings as well with mismatched china sets, woven or wooden chargers, and statement glassware.

Taper Candles and Clusters

Candles will never lose their place in the wedding scene, but the form they appear in is constantly changing. Brides this year are leaving votives behind in the summer season and entering the fall with a love for taper candles. Sculptural taper candles, with their fun twists, curves, shapes, and stripes, are enjoying their well-deserved time in the spotlight this season, along with colorful candles that match the overall palette. Don’t worry, regular white and ivory tapers are popular this fall too, especially when paired with elegant candlesticks and arranged in tasteful clusters of varying heights.

Dried Florals and Fruits

The pampas grass craze may be on the downward trend this year, but dried bouquets are thriving in the fall season! Preserved peonies, roses, and hydrangeas are making waves in the fall bouquet scene, as well as dried rosehips, strawflowers, amaranth, and yarrow. Bouquets and arrangements are moving away from the overly structured looks and embracing natural, organic, textured looks. Also prevalent this season are dried fruits, berries, and seed pods, adding a nod to the harvest season without being overtly rustic.
