A Beginner's Guide to Rental Chairs

Plastic or wooden? Folding or stationary? There are so many chair styles to choose from! If you have an event to plan and you’re not sure what chair style fits you best, you’re in the right place. Keep reading and let us introduce you to the 6 chair styles we have to offer and walk you through what each one does best.

Samsonite Folding Chair

The samsonite chair is the standard metal-framed, plastic-seated folding chair that you see at just about every casual event from corporate seminar to a backyard barbeque. When you just need something cheap and simple to get the job done, these chairs are it. They are not only highly affordable but also highly convenient. Samsonite chairs are lightweight, so they are easy to pick up and pull around. They also fold up relatively thin and stack nicely, so they are easy to store and transport in small spaces. Available in both black and white, these chairs are blank canvases that can be decorated and accessorized to fit any theme.

Fanback Folding Chair

Similar to samsonite chairs, the fanback folding chair consists of a metal frame and plastic seat. Where these chairs have an upper hand, though, is in their sculpted seats. The gently scooped seat and rounded back contour to your body for a more comfortable sit, making this chair a great option for events that require long periods of sitting. The fanback chair also boasts the highest weight limit of all our folding chairs, reliably holding up to 400 pounds.

Wooden Folding Chair

If you are wanting a chair that is affordable and easy to transport but a little bit nicer than a plastic folding chair, then the wooden folding chair is for you. These chairs are constructed of wooden frames and backs with metal hardware and a padded seat for comfort. They also feature wide legs that are perfectly suited for outdoor use as they are less likely to sink into soft terrain. They are foldable, stackable, and much easier to transport than wooden chairs of other styles. Our wooden folding chairs are available in 3 varieties: natural varnished, fruitwood stained, and black painted.

Resin Folding Chair

The white resin folding chair is identical in style to the wooden folding chairs, but it has a few perks that sets it apart. Since these chairs are made of resin instead of wood, they are sturdier and more durable. The resin material is impervious to water damage, and it is resistant to the buffs, scrapes, and nicks that could otherwise damage the finish on a wooden chair. They are also a bit lighter in weight and very easy to transport.

Chiavari Ballroom Chair

The chiavari ballroom chair is the classic, elegant, special event chair, and it is especially popular with weddings. Named after the Italian town where they were designed, these chairs are known for their sophisticated bamboo-like design. The square back and decorative slats offer many opportunities for decoration, and they look stunning when accessorized with florals or a sash. If you want to add an extra layer of comfort and design, these chairs also have an optional cushion that ties to the back post and fits perfectly to the seat. These chairs are very lightweight for a non-folding chair, and they stack nicely for transport. Our chiavari chairs are available in wood in the colors fruitwood, gold, and silver. We also have a clear resin option for the especially upscale and glamorous events, as well as matching stools in both fruitwood and clear.

Pilgrim X-Back Chair

Another wedding favorite, the antique pilgrim x-back chairs tick all the right boxes. They are sturdy, comfortable, and beautiful. These chairs have thick wooden seats and legs that flare out at the bottom for added stability. They have gently curved backs, and the optional cushion adds a second layer of comfort. Their rustic look makes them a popular compliment to nature in outdoor events, especially garden, barn, and state park weddings. Like with the chiavari chairs, the pilgrim x-back is easy to decorate with sashes and florals, and it also has a matching stool for use at high-top tables and bars.
