8 of the Hottest Wedding Trends for 2025
Posted by: Sarah Lawen Smith Feb 01, 2025

It is one month into 2025, and this year’s wedding trends are already making themselves known. This year is all about connection, bold expression, and authenticity, with trends focusing on creating a fun and expressive experience while also celebrating the new couple in more personal ways. Here are 8 of this year’s biggest trends that are dominating the wedding industry.

1. Vivid Colors

This year we are seeing brides step away from the traditional muted colors and pastels in favor of colors that are more saturated, more vibrant, and more expressive of emotion.  Move over blush and sage, it’s time for the jewel tones to shine! Right on trend, Brides.com has named Verona Sunset the 2025 wedding color of the year, and this gorgeous, rich orange fits right in with the color palettes we are seeing this year. Deep reds like crimson are taking the place of muted burgundies, baby blue is making way for shades of azure, and creamy yellows are paling in comparison to the brighter lemon and chartreuse. Talented brides and planners are combining these vivid colors to create striking arrangements that are both contrasting and complementary.

2. Layered Textures

Just because vivid colors are in doesn’t mean monochromatic decor is out. On the contrary! Brides are finding ways to mimic the maximalist vibes while still embodying the monochromatic aesthetic. How? Through strategic layering of textures! 2025 brides are using mixing plush, organic, matte, glossy, metallic, and more textures together to create a cohesive design with visual interest and depth.

3. Dramatic Drapery

Textures aren’t just hitting the banquet tables this year, they are also finding their way onto the walls and ceiling. Dramatic drapery is not only in this year, it is making waves. Drapery layered in a combination of waterfalls and swoops creates a backdrop with depth and texture that not only looks gorgeous in person, but also translates beautifully on camera. Including drapery on your walls and ceiling also creates a more aesthetically immersive experience, enveloping you and your guests in an environment that screams luxury, sophistication, and class.

4. Serpentine Tables

You have heard of tables being round and rectangular, and you have maybe even heard of semicircle tables, but did you know there is another option? Serpentine tables are a lesser known yet incredibly versatile table option that are pushing their way into the wedding limelight in 2025. These gently curved, shallow “C” shaped tables are popularly used individually as sweetheart tables, arranged in groups of 2 or 4 to create hollow semi-circles and full circles, or arranged end to end in long rows that snake their way across the banquet floor like, as their name suggests, a serpent. When laden with wedding decor and stunning floral arrangements, these tables create a whimsical and visually dynamic seating arrangement that will take your reception from basic to brilliant.

5. Mismatched Wedding Attire

This trend has been rising over the last several years, but it is in effect this year more than ever. Bridal party attire is moving away from the perfectly matched rows of bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen suits and is moving toward curated and coordinated mixture of individual personalities and style. Instead of assigning a singular dress color and style, brides are providing their bridesmaids with general guidelines and aesthetics and letting each individual choose a dress that matches their unique personality and tastes. Similarly, grooms are giving their groomsmen more freedom to choose suit and tux styles that fit their personalities. This leads to a whimsical, mismatched look that is still coordinated and intentional.

6. Multi-day Celebrations

As life gets busy and friends and family move apart, it is becoming increasingly difficult to spend quality time with all the people we love all at once. 2025 brides are starting to recognize the unique opportunity their wedding presents to bring all their closest family and friends together in one place, and they are not letting it go to waste. Brides are making the most of this time together by extending the wedding into a multi-day celebration with events and excursions spanning the entire weekend. Thursdays are filled with welcome parties and city tours, Fridays are including group excursions in addition to traditional rehearsals and dinners, Saturday receptions following the big ceremony are stretching through the day and into the night, and Sundays are hosting farewell brunches. Spending multiple days with friends and family surrounding your wedding is a great way to make sure you get the most out of your time together.

7. Short Ceremonies

Wedding ceremonies in 2025 are shorter than ever with brides ditching the traditional pomp and circumstance and opting instead to include only the necessities. These short and sweet ceremonies quickly move through the formalities so the real celebration can get underway. However, just because the ceremony is bare bones doesn’t mean the brides are sacrificing personalization and meaningfulness. It just means they are moving those personal moments to other parts of the celebration. For instance, many couples this year are opting to recite their personalized vows to each other in private before or after the ceremony.

8. Interactive Experiences

You may be used to a wedding reception including drinks, dinner, and dancing, but brides this year are planning fun interactive activities and experiences in addition to the traditional festivities. These experiences range from live entertainment and choreographed dance performances to collaborative art pieces and friendly mini golf or video game competitions. We love this trend because it opens the door to greater levels of personalization and provides more opportunities for connection.
