5 Red and Green Tablescapes That Don't Scream "Christmas!"
Posted by: Sarah Lawen Smith Sep 20, 2025

Red and green may be the hallmark colors of the Christmas season, but that doesn’t mean the December holiday holds the monopoly on this classic color combination. On the contrary! With the right shades and the right styles, red and green can be the perfect color palette for any season! Don’t believe us? Check out these 5 non-Christmas tablescapes styled with reds, greens, florals, and fruits.

Bright and Bold

This look brings together bright tones and bold patterns to create a striking tablescape. To create this look, we chose a tablecloth with bright, warm-toned patterns in red, burnt orange, yellow and cream (BBJ Enchantress Henna). Then, we chose a yellow-green runner with a simple geometric pattern that adds to the visual texture without creating clutter (BBJ Savannah Citrus). To set this lustrous look, we chose our ornate, mixed-metal Majestic china and paired it with our geometric silver Plaza flatware. For the napkin, we chose a light, warm yellow (BBJ Verona Honey) to pull out the yellow in the tablecloth. To dress up this look, pair this bold and bright tablescape with equally bold and bright florals in red, orange, yellow, or even saturated pinks. Brightly colored fruits like pears, kiwis, or cherries would also pair well.

Light and Fresh

This look is light on the eye and perfect for a sunlit spring brunch. To put this look together, we started with a flowy tablecloth with a wide, brushstroked check pattern (BBJ Levi Green), then layered on a subtly textured cream runner (BBJ Faille Bone). Our Woven Rattan chargers created the perfect backdrop for our classic White Scalloped china, and those delicate scalloped edges are complimented by the scrolled handles of our Chateau flatware. The red for this look appears in the form of a rust red patterned napkin (BBJ La Garita Jasper). Mixing bright spring flowers like tulips or daffodils with glossy tomatoes on the vine and ripe peppers is a great way to complete this look.

Elegant and Moody

The cool-toned reds and greens in this look may look close to those Christmassy colors but balancing them with moody accessories brings us back to the land of elegance. We started this look with cool grey tablecloth with a gentle woven texture (BBJ Yuma Steel). We choose a variegated green runner (BBJ Verona Forest) to lay along the center, then set the table with our matte grey Heirloom Charcoal china and elegant silver Shell flatware. A napkin in dark, cool red (BBJ Nuovo Burgundy) adds another pop of color, and the look is finished with glossy florals in deep red, pale pink, and cream. To pair fresh produce with this look, choose items with moody colors, bold textures, and flashy patterns like beetroot, ornamental gourds, or graffiti eggplant.

Sweet and Zippy

The citrus tones in this look take red and green to a whole new level of zip and zing. To create this radiant look, we started with a simple deep red tablecloth (BBJ Classic Ruby) and layered it with a bright, glossy yellow-green runner (BBJ Radiance Citrine). A simple place setting lets the colors shine, so we chose the modern lines of our White Square china and brushed silver Arezzo flatware. To round out the color palette, we chose a napkin in a bright pinkish orange (BBJ Lamour Persimmon). To dress up the table we chose bright, colorful fruits like bunches of green grapes, refreshing sliced grapefruits, and ruby red pomegranates. Any tropical floral would look at home on this tablescape, but we found that the beautiful, waxy petals of Anthurium are the perfect pairing.

Muted and Warm

This look, while muted in tone, is warm and luxurious to the eye. We created this look by first choosing a plush, drapey velvet tablecloth in a rich curry green (BBJ Velvet Curry). Then, we chose a patterned velveteen runner in a dark, warm red (BBJ Celeste Cinnamon). We set the table with our dark grey Heirloom Charcoal china and clean, modern gold Arezzo flatware. For the napkin, we chose a dotted fabric in a subtly metallic beige (BBJ Swiss Dot) that adds texture and refinement. Dried floral bouquets are essential for completing this look, along with fresh artichokes, sliced figs, and rich nuts.
