If you have ever ordered a delivery from us before, or if you have read our delivery FAQ, you know that we require all our clients to be present at the time of delivery. While we understand that sometimes it can be hard to get away from your other responsibilities to meet us at your venue, your presence at delivery is crucial for a successful drop off. There are three main reasons why your presence at delivery is so important, and we have outlined those reasons for you below.
Your presence facilitates a quick delivery.
When we arrive at your venue for delivery, our goal is to quickly unload and transport your items to wherever they need to go so you can start setting up and decorating as soon as possible. However, in order to accomplish this, we rely on you being present at the time of delivery. Before we can unload your items, we first need to confirm with you that we are at the correct location, then we need you to sign a delivery slip stating your order was received. In many cases, we also need you present to gain access to the venue, whether it be your personal residence or a commercial property. If you or a designated member of your team is not present at the agreed upon delivery time, we are unable to begin unloading, and that can cause both you and our crew to fall behind schedule.
Your presence allows us to set up efficiently.
The best person to show us the plan for setup is the person who made the plan, so that’s why we need you there to show us where everything goes. This is especially true for orders with lots of different items that need to be in several different places. If you need a tent built on a certain section of the lawn, a dance floor assembled on one half of a patio, rows of chairs set up in the ballroom, and dishes stacked in the dining hall, we need someone present at the venue to show us where these spaces are located and how you would like everything arranged. This ensures that we can deliver and set up efficiently and correctly the first time so no one has to waste time moving and reassembling any misplaced items.
Your presence helps ensure accuracy.
Perhaps the most important reason we need you present at delivery is to ensure the accuracy of your order. We check the accuracy of your order at every stage of planning, prepping, loading, and delivering, and the final check happens when we go over your order sheet with you at delivery to make sure you received every type, quantity, color, and size of item you ordered. Should there happen to be a mistake, catching it upon delivery allows us to immediately work to correct it with the least number of delays.
